Promotion & Advertisements of Nissan Micra

Nissan Motor India has begun soft marketing of its small car Micra which it would launch in July. The company has started an initiative called "exposure marketing" to build brand awareness and seek insights from prospective buyers on its product. The car maker has erected special pavilions at high footfall areas like shopping malls in different cities across the country.

The pavilions have interactive LCD display kiosks and shoppers at the mall are encouraged to use these and get a view of the Micra. "As we gear up for start of sales in July 2010, we are constantly looking at innovative platforms to reach out to our target and prospective customers," said Kiminobu Tokuyama, the company managing director. The pre-launch marketing activity that started in Pune and Bangalore May 5 will continue till December 2010.

Design & Styling of Nissan Micra

As seen in lot of renderings the 4th generation model of Micra is completely different from the 3rd generation model. As far as design is concerned the New Nissan Micra can be termed cute and smart with oval shaped headlamps and small clear lens tail lamps. Retaining its compact dimensions, the new car is slightly longer and marginally lower, while its longer wheelbase enables a ‘wheels-at-each-corner’ stance, the main reason behind the Nissan Micra’s roomier interior. The bonnet is short with a bulge/crease in centre. The front grille has a horizontal chrome strip in centre to give it a more upmarket look. The front bumper of Micra has a large air dam in centre which is flanked by clear lens round shaped fog lights on both sides.

The top models features chrome ring outside the front fog lamps. The rear design of Micra has been kept quite simple and balanced by Nissan India. About Production of Nissan Micra

The plant which started production has a capacity to produce 400,000 units per year at full ramp up. The plant is spread over an area of 640 acres, represents an investment of $990 million. The initial production capacity at the plant will be 200,000 units with one line and the company is looking at producing more than 80,000 units. The plant employs 1,900 workers and will reach 3,000 in two years time. The company, along with its supplier park in Chennai, estimates a total of 6,000 jobs to be created in the region.

More than 85 per cent of its parts used for the new Nissan Micra are procured through around 96 local vendors and half of them are located in Chennai. “We always had a clear strategy for India and this has been clearly reflected in our investments in the first manufacturing plant for the alliance in Chennai. We are now confident that the Indian customers will like our product offerings beginning with the Nissan Micra, and this is the right product at the right time,” said Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO, Nissan Motor India.

Very similar to the original Yeti concept, seen at Geneva in 2005, the production version adds five doors and a simpler front end, with a traditional Skoda grille and spotlights. Skoda also showcased Yeti Concept at the 2008 Auto Expo in India. Skoda has finally launched the Yeti at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi but will be on sale in 2-3 months. This 4.2 metre long, five-door vehicle bears the well-known features of the brand. An impressive front end with a ribbed grille and friendly looking headlamps confidently demonstrate.

Skoda has done a very neat job on the Yeti's interior. It exudes class, with a dashboard that would look at home in an Audi and classy instruments instead of green functional dials of old. The back seats slide to alter the balance between boot and passenger space, and the high seating position and deep footwell provide more room than you'd guess from the outside. The new model of WagonR looks much better than the current generation WagonR. New WagonR is based on the very Japanese way of creating cars, gone are the boxy looks, the shape of New WagonR is more rounded. Maruti Suzuki India has christened the New WagonR as ‘The Blue-Eyed-Boy’ as it features smart looking blue tinge in the big headlamps. This time the facelift is quite major as Maruti engineers has used all new chassis which is wider that the last generation one and hence the new WagonR looks wide and more proportionate than the old WagonR.

BMW calls the X6 M a Sports Activity Coupe. It looks like the outcome of a collision between the German company’s 6-series coupe and the X5 off-roader. And that’s because it is, at least in design terms. BMW claims it’s an entirely new class of car. The BMW X6 M is based on that X5, its main difference, aside from the obvious low roof, swoopy bodywork, firm suspension and the addition of Dynamic Performance Control.

It's the latter that makes the X6 M so special. Basically the cleverest rear differential in the world, DPC apportions power to the rear wheels independently to improve agility, stability and traction at all times. This matters to you and me because it makes the X6 M handle incredibly well and incredibly safely in any condition without cutting power or hitting the brakes to interfere. BMW X6 M is powered by a 4.4 litre TwinPower Turbo engine with maximum power of 555 Bhp at 5750 rpm with maximum torque of 679 Nmat 1500 rpm. The car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, according to the automaker. The X6 M is the first xDrive all-wheel-drive vehicle from BMW to sport the “M” badge. The dashboard is pretty much lifted intact from the X5, but that’s a good thing. The layout, look and feel of the fascia and the snuggly, enveloping driving position are all typically brilliant BMW, and the cabin itself exudes an aura of high quality and solidity. The two rear passengers each get an individual chair complete with a centre console for drinks, and a separate armrest. Without doubt the best seat in the house is up front – the one opposite the steering wheel.

The cabin is fitted with a really slick 4-zone climate control system allowing all four passengers to control the temperature of their immediate surroundings. Rear dimensions are compromised, but two adults will be happy in back, provided they aren't 6' plus. Cargo capacity, while adequate, is considerably below average for the midsize crossover SUV segment.

The lamps, combined with a lifted, aerodynamic crease at the tail, give the Z4 a more aggressive outline from the back.

The side view of the Z4 exposes some differences from other BMWs: the bubble of the top's roofline, but also, most notably, the overhangs. BMW says that they're short, but relative to the otherwise tight proportions, they seem the longest for the automaker in years, especially at the back, where the automaker needed to add length for stowing the retractable hardtop.

The new BMW Z4 also comes with the optional Design Pure White package, that features the finest Nappa leather in Ivory White and door inserts in Alcantara. In addition to the six standard exterior colours, Havanna Brown paintwork is also available exclusively in conjunction with the Design Pure White trim, which brings the unique character of the new BMW Z4 Roadster to the fore.

Interiors & Comfort Features Of BMW Z4

BMW Z4 has a more sophisticated, upscale style than you're going to find in almost any other small roadster. Gone is the 2007 model's straight-across, elegant shelf of the dash in the previous Z4, replaced now with a curvier, more rakish profile. Center controls are now slightly canted toward the driver, while allowing a little more spaciousness for the passenger, and climate controls are arranged above the sound system.

A smoother center console design of BMW Z4 houses an electric parking brake, along with the iDrive controller. A nav screen, when so equipped, pops up from the top center of the dash. In the trunk, a mid-gate separating the roof compartment can be folded down for more luggage.

There is a definite sportiness in the New model of BMW Z4.  The suspension holds true, allowing only the most minimal body roll as Z4 now comes with Dynamic Drive Control, and can now be configured with an adjustable M suspension.  You’ll have the choice of conventional, sport and sport plus mode.  Both sport modes enhance throttle responsiveness, while steering becomes tighter and heavier.  Sport plus limits the traction and stability control systems, so you can hang the rear wheels out a bit. BMW calls the X6 a Sports Activity Coupe. It looks like the outcome of a collision between the German company’s 6-series coupe and the X5 off-roader. And that’s because it is, at least in design terms. BMW claims it’s an entirely new class of car. The BMW X6 is based on that X5, its main difference, aside from the obvious low roof, swoopy bodywork, firm suspension and the addition of Dynamic Performance Control. It's the latter that makes the X6 so special. Basically the cleverest rear differential in the world, DPC apportions power to the rear wheels independently to improve agility, stability and traction at all times. This matters to you and me because it makes the X6 handle incredibly well and incredibly safely in any condition without cutting power or hitting the brakes to interfere.

Combine DPC with Adaptive Drive, which eliminates roll and dive, and two incredibly powerful engines and you have a car that performs better than even the wildest imagination allows. The car is set to rival the Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne. Tthe centre of gravity is lower than the X5’s, and it has a marginally wider rear track, both of which make it feel secure and planted.

The dashboard is pretty much lifted intact from the X5, but that’s a good thing. The layout, look and feel of the fascia and the snuggly, enveloping driving position are all typically brilliant BMW, and the cabin itself exudes an aura of high quality and solidity. The two rear passengers each get an individual chair complete with a centre console for drinks, and a separate armrest. Without doubt the best seat in the house is up front – the one opposite the steering wheel.

The cabin is fitted with a really slick 4-zone climate control system allowing all four passengers to control the temperature of their immediate surroundings. Rear dimensions are compromised, but two adults will be happy in back, provided they aren't 6' plus. Cargo capacity, while adequate, is considerably below average for the midsize crossover SUV segment. The X6 certainly impresses in the powertrain department. The xDrive35i's 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 pumps out a frisky 300 horsepower and 407 Nm of torque, while the xDrive50i's 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 bristles with 400 hp and 610 Nm of torque.

The sole transmission is a six-speed automatic with manual shift control. Standard on all X6 models is BMW's new Dynamic Performance Control, which works with the AWD system to distribute torque between the individual rear wheels. The sequential paddle shift is as good as you’d expect – quick and efficient. Throttle response is instant and linear lift is spectacular – instant and lag-free.

Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. Standard on all is BMW's iDrive control system, which uses a console knob to control entertainment, navigation, communication, and climate functions. Optional is BMW's Active Steering, which is designed to quicken low-speed steering response.

BMW X5

The BMW X5 is a mid-size crossover SUV sold by BMW since 1999, making it BMW's first SUV. It’s hard to argue with the new BMW X5 – it’s imposing to look at, amazing to drive and now has a seven-seat option. SUVs don’t come much better. X5’s convex-concave surfaces perfectly support its generous proportions and muscular wheel arches. Dynamic light and shadow progressions demonstrate elegance and presence with their robust appearance and clear structure.

The X5 uses variable ratio steering, changing the lock-to-lock steering wheel distance depending on your speed. The wishbone type front suspension optimizes tire contact on the road and makes the new X5 capable of reaching impressively high cornering forces. One of the more remarkable features in the X5 is its panoramic moonroof, a vast expanse of glass over the front and middle-row seats. Push a button in the overhead console and a large portion of it slides back and lets in lots of fresh air and sun/moon light.

xDrive is a permanent all-wheel drive system, which uses sensors and digital aids in transferring varied levels of drive power between the front and rear axles. Torque-split-by-demand xDrive also helps in cornering. When the vehicle senses that it was about to understeer or oversteer the vehicle can independently cut traction to either of the front wheels or rear wheels to help regain stability and keep the driver on the road. BMW X5’s driver assistant Hill Descent Control system will be helpful while driving on a smooth rocky surface or slippery downhill surfaces.

Only the Porsche Cayenne comes close to the X5 in terms of on-road handling; the X5 can really shift. Swivel motors mounted on the anti-roll bars mean that at slow speed the X5 can ride well, and then when the going gets faster it can tighten itself up to feel more sporting. BMW has now come up with new X5 Security Plus, which complies with the requirements of bullet resistance class 6. This is, according to BMW, the first vehicle produced by a high-volume manufacturer which offers security against attacks where automatic weapons like the AK47 may be used.

Based on the regular X5 sports activity vehicle (SAV), the X5 Security Plus can seat up to four people inside its armoured passenger cabin. It guarantees excellent protection, including the use of high-performance steel moulded components and panels. The body features sealed joints, which also provide protection in critical areas - e.g. between doors and frames as well as between side panels and pillars - thus preventing bullet or fragment penetration, as well as security glass conceived exclusively for this bullet resistance class.

Furthermore, the BMW X5 Security Plus’ windows resist attack using clubs, crowbars etc. and feature a polycarbonate coating that protects the interior from glass shatter. An intercom system facilitates communication with persons outside the vehicle, without having to open doors or windows. The hold-up alarm ensures that windows and doors lock automatically. Acoustic and visual alarm signals are also emitted.

The X5 Security Plus is fitted with BMW’s powerful 4.8-litre V8, which produces 355bhp and 475Nm of torque - enough to propel the vehicle from 0 to 100km/h in 8.2 seconds and to on electronically limited top speed of 180km/h. The xDrive four-wheel-drive system also provides off-road capabilities and electronics like DSC stability control system improve the vehicle’s on-road driving dynamics. While BMW does not sell its security vehicles in India, interested buyers can ask their nearest BMW dealer to import one via the CBU route.

AUDI A4

Audi has tried long and hard to make its A4 as desirable as the BMW 3-Series but hasn't quite succeeded. At least until now. While the BMW may still have the edge on ultimate driver appeal, the 2008 A4 is a better all rounder. As beautifully finished as ever, Audi has ensured the A4 saloon is priced a little lower than its main rivals and is more generous with equipment.

The steering is well weighted and accurate and there's a high level of grip. But although the handling is safe and secure, when you push hard you discover that the A4 lacks the finesse and balance that come as standard with the rear-wheel-drive 3-Series. Enter a bend too enthusiastically and the nose pushes wide in a way that no amount of easing off the throttle will cure. The A5 behaves exactly the same.

With a wishbone upfront and independent suspension at the rear, a well and truly caned A4 dismisses surface imperfections to maintain its course. But it’s still very much an Audi: a nose-heavy beast with only slightly more steering feel than a radio controlled model car. One giant road dip in a tight right-hander reminds us that the Audi A4 remains the long distance commuter’s sports sedan. A4’s good looks and superior interior make it an entirely defensible choice. But that doesn’t change the fact that Quattro is Audi’s Unique Selling Point. The new A4 gets many new electronic and assistance features found in larger BMW and Mercedes models.

Features such as adaptive shock absorbers, seat fans, adaptive airbags/belts, adaptive cruise control, radio-operated key, variable steering as well as other Audi features found only in A6 and A8 models which include MMI and a 10-channel 505-Watt Bang & Olufson 14 speaker stereo system. Lastly, for an added touch of the Audi R8, the xenon plus headlight option includes 14 white LEDs as day-time driving lights.

A new driver assistance feature known as Audi Drive Select provides two sport settings for the adaptive suspension. In addition, four other pre-configured modes include comfort, auto, dynamic or individual (only available with MMI option) settings. Drive Select influences accelerator pedal response, tiptronic shift points, power steering assistance, steering ratio and electronically adjustable shock absorbers.

For safety, Audi's new Lane Assist uses a camera in the windshield to monitor lane position above 65 km/h and alerts the driver by vibrating the steering wheel when a lane changes occurs without using the turn signal. Audi also has Side Assist which uses radar sensors in the front and rear bumpers. The system warns the driver of vehicles in blind spots or fast approaching from behind. The driver is warned by a flashing LED on the outside housing of the side view mirror.

One of the biggest challenges Audi faced in the development of this successor was driving dynamics. With an engine position which sat just forward of the front axel of the previous generation, equilibrium was adversely affected resulting in an understeer problem. Compared to its German rivals which are rear-wheel-drive biased, Audi was at a disadvantage. However, with this all-new MLP platform the front axel gets moved forward by 154mm for a much improved axel-weight distribution. Also aiding weight distribution, Audi has moved the transmission differential forward just behind the engine but in front of the clutch or torque converter.

Despite the bigger size of the body, the new A4 body shell weighs an amazing 10% less than its predecessor. Audi has accomplished this through the use of new high-strength steel grades. Aerodynamics also improve to 0.27 drag coefficient, which is 3 to 5% lower (depending on model) although the frontal area is slightly wider. For Audi's compact executive to truly succeed in giving BMW a bloody nose, the A4 will have to prove its worth where it counts - on the road. And within minutes it's clear the new car is vastly better than the old one.

Design & Styling

Q5 is a very handsome, even pretty, vehicle, with good proportions and exquisite detailing in items like the LED headlights and taillamps. Audi's modern, so-called shield grille dominates the front-end styling, and it makes for a very attractive face. With its sporty elegance and artfully sculpted forms, the design of the Q5 is perfectly in tune with the character of Audi as a brand. The front end is dominated by expressive headlights on both sides of the large single-frame grille; on request, they can be outfitted with bi-xenon lamps and LED daytime running lights. Viewed from the side, the large wheels and rising edges are especially prominent features.

The elegant slope of the roof underscores the slim, coupe-like styling. At the rear, the wraparound tailgate – made from aluminum just like the hood whichclearly identifies this SUV as a relative of its older brother, the Audi Q7. The taillights are available in eye-catching LED technology as well.

Driving, Comfort & Features

If you want an off-roader that handles like a hatchback, the Q5 is the car for you. There's immense grip, solid body control and nicely weighted steering, so you'll have more fun driving it than you will any other car in the class. However, the payoff for this ability is a ride so firm that it will jiggle all the enthusiasm out of you before you've reached your favourite back road. That's not good in something that will be used as a family car.

Whichever version you choose, the Q5 offers a very quiet way to travel. You hear a smattering of wind- and road noise, but not enough of either to upset you. The engines are wonderfully refined, too. The diesels are smooth and quiet, while the petrol gives off a pleasing rasp when you accelerate hard.

You get the commanding driving position that 4x4 buyers like, and because the dash comes from the A4, it's clear and easy to use. There's Audi's intuitive MMI central controller, too. Audi admits 'sporty' looks were a priority with the Q5, but this doesn't impinge on practicality. There's plenty of room for four adults and still room for 540 litres of luggage, which is virtually trebled with the rear seats down. The rear seats fold and recline, and there's the option of runners that gives them 100mm of fore and aft travel. A folding front passenger seat is also an option.

The V6 Turbo diesel displaces 3.0 Litre and generates an impressive 240 bhp and an even more impressive 510 nm of torque. The same diesel even under the hood of the bigger Q7 provides effortless performance and its fair to say that in Q5 which is smaller and lighter, it will more or less electric!



Both the engines are mated to a 7-Speed S-Tronic transmission with permanent Quattro all wheel drive. Audi claims a 0-100 kmph sprint time of 6.5 seconds for the diesel and 7.2 seconds for the petrol and top speed of 225 kmph and 222 kph respectively.

Design & Style

Now Audi is making it more elegant and more efficient, with lower emissions. Audi has also given the 2010 Q7 a minor facelift both inside and outside. At the front end, Vertical chrome bars contrast with its black high-gloss finish. 2010 Q7 gets new headlamps that incorporate Audi’s now-signature LED running lights and a revised front bumper with chrome accents. Their lower section is now painted in a contrasting black or gray, depending on the body color. Inside, the trim has been updated with more wood, but the big news is the third generation MMI navigation/entertainment/information . The navigation system gets a 3D interface and joystick control for finding destinations. The Sirius satellite radio also provides traffic data now and accepts voice commands to find cash, food or gas, much like Ford's TravelLink system. Thanks to its 3002mm wheelbase within an overall length of 5086mm, the Audi Q7 has interior room to spare, and the interior flexibility is unrivalled. The seatbacks in the second row are divided into three fold-down sections to provide a level cargo floor. This increases the luggage space from a volume of 775 liters to 2,035 liters. With the leather upholstery option, the middle seat now has an even more comfortable contour.

Safety & Technology

In its suspension technology too the Audi Q7 is exceptional. As a customer option, Audi equips the Q7 with adaptive air suspension - a pneumatic suspension system that operates in conjunction with an electronic shock absorber control, varies the ground clearance at five different levels, and lets the driver select three driving modes: comfort, automatic and dynamic. In its road handling the Q7 excels in its sporty, highly responsive precision. Off-road, it provides a superior ride on widely varying terrains. The Q7 comes with a splendid range of standard equipment.

The speed-dependent servotronic steering system is standard, as is a double floor in the cargo area complete with a storage compartment and a dirt tray; there is also a roof rack, an automatic air conditioning system, and an MMI radio operating system complete with a CD audio player and eight loudspeakers. The option program includes luxury features such as the remote key and four-zone automatic air conditioning. Another high-end option is the climate-controlled comfort seat, which can keep the body warm or cool it by means of small fans.

SKODA FABIA

Skoda's Fabia is a popular small car among buyers who are looking for good value for money. The car's durability and practicality are very appealing above more subjective attributes. It provides good levels of refinement and a decent ride for a car of this size. The car enjoys a loyal following due largely to its practicality, decent driving experience, and affordable price. It has managed to transformation from a modest hatch to something more versatile. The Fabia is a hatchback with much better access and versatility. Skoda Fabia was launched abroad in 2000 and went in for a facelift in 2005.

In India Fabia is available in 8 variants - 4 Diesel and 4 Petrol. The 1422cc Diesel engine generates maximum power of 68bhp at 4000rpm with maximum torque of 155nm in the range of 1600-2800rpm. The 1198cc Petrol engine generates maximum power of 70bhp at 5400rpm with maximum torque of 108nm at 3000rpm. Skoda India is also planning to launch a Fabia variantt in which they will plonk the 1900cc diesel engine.

As far as the overall design of the new Fabia goes, it is more of the same but improved and that says a lot because the outgoing Fabia was highly rated. The car benefits from more headroom and rear legroom. The width is still a bit cosy but the boot is larger and makes for a very user-friendly five-door hatchback. The space is reasonable and with storage areas and cubbyholes logically placed. Cars with air conditioning also receive cooled gloveboxes.

The car's foldable rear seats come in very handy, allowing larger items to be loaded with ease. The car's tailgate opens wide but due to the flat load lip loading and unloading can be a challenge. It is not a complex car, and the controls and dials reflect that simplicity. The essential instruments are all adequately represented on the car's fascia. The controls and displays are all large and easy to operate. The high-mounted stereo's controls are simple to use as well. The car's steering wheel adjusts for both reach and rake. The Fabia provides a very comfortable ride. The car's seats are supportive and comfortable, but larger passengers may not be as comfortable.

Cabin space is good for front seat passengers. Rear space is more limited but will accommodate smaller passeng ers or children very well. It handles well and provides good grip. It drives well both in town and at motorway speeds. The steering is light but offers enough feel on more challenging roads. It wouldn't be the most practical family car. Rear seating is limited, and may not easily accommodate a growing family. The boot is practically sized though and could easily store a stroller or family-sized shopping.

Dash layout is simple and the trim feels robust but it looks basic when compared to rivals, while the air con switches seem old fashioned and the steering wheel feels cheap. It does have a double glovebox and easy to read, attractively lit dials, though. Overall, Fabia is the most solid hatchback in India and it enjoys a loyal following due largely to its practicality, best quality interiors and decent driving experience.

SKODA LAURA

The Skoda Laura is a luxury sedan that comes with well-built interiors, world class technology, and a host of top-notch safety features. A lean and minimalist structure renders the vehicle a sleek look and a striking chrome grille with vertical fins in the front fascia grabs attention of car enthusiasts. Skoda India has launched all new laura (known as Octavia in rest of the world) with an extensive exterior and interior facelift, bringing the hugely successful model up to date with the brand's current range.

Design & Interiors

The new Skoda Laura has undergone a series of significant design changes which include dynamic, sweeping headlights and complimentary front fog lights, new foldable door mirrors and body coloured bumpers and side mouldings. Improvements go well beyond a traditional facelift with the new Skoda Laura benefiting from a partially re-designed interior which features a range of new steering wheels, new stereo systems and new upholstery. A beautifully crafted interior features impressive luxury features including a sunroof and front parking sensors. It offers seating which will be comfortable and spacious.

The interiors have a more upmarket feel to them. Finished in two tones, black for the dash top and beige for the rest, they incorporate some elements from the Superb. The steering wheel and gear lever are the same as on the big Skoda , and they have plenty of chrome garnish on them too. Brushed aluminium-like trim runs around the cabin and there is a new stereo as well. Skoda has altered the spring rates on the Laura and jacked it up a tad to enable it to ride better over our roads. Ride comfort is better than before, especially at low speeds. The Laura is now shod with Indian Goodyears and not imported tyres. The pliant suspension does its bit too.

Features

New Laura is loaded with comfort features like 12-Way electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, heated front seats, Skoda entertainment system operated via a 6.5 inch TFT touchscreen with an integrated 6-CD changer and twelve speakers, Audio controls on the steering wheel, dual zone climate control system, leather upholstery, retractable rear windscreen blind and electrically foldable external mirrors.

The new model comes with convenience features such as central infotainment system, cruise control, multi function display, personal comfort settings, automatic front wiper with rain sensors, light assistant, boarding sport lamps and reading spot lamps at front and rear.

Engine Options & Variants

New Skoda Laura is available with a option of three engines:

- 1.8 TSi petrol
- 1.9 TDi PD Diesel
- 2.0 TDi PD Diesel

The 1.8 TSi is same which is powering the new superb. It develops 160 Bhp at 4500 rpm of maximum power with 250 Nm at 1500 rpm. Second in the list is the old workhorse - the 1.9 TDi PD diesel engine which develops 105 Bhp at 4000 rpm of maximum power with 250 Nm at 1900 rpm. The third one is the more powerful 2.0 TDi PD diesel engine which also powers the new Superb. It develops 140 Bhp at 4000 rpm of maximum power with 320 Nm at 1750 rpm. The petrol model comes with 6-Speed manual transmission while diesel comes with either a 5-Speed manual or the optional 6-Speed DSG with Tiptronic manual gear change.
